Succesful China tour

Between November 7 and 17, 2019, Lestari and Gwylim toured through China. The duo gave six performances in Shanghai (Oriental Arts Center), Chengdu, Congqing, Dalian and Qindao. The duo also gave a master class at the Sichaun Conservatory of Music in Chengdu. The tour was supported by, among others, the NBSO China, the Consulate in Congqing and the Bank of China. The concerts of the duo were received with great enthusiasm and the duo is now busy setting up a next tour through China in 2020.

It was not the first time that Scholtes & Janssens performed in China. In November 2018, the duo gave a big tour of 16 concerts throughout the country.

Debut in Myanmar

After performing in an impressive number of countries, the Scholtes & Janssens Piano Duo can soon write no. 30 on their list. On March 15, 2019, the duo will perform for the first time in Myanmar as part of their Spring Tour through Asia. The concert is followed by another one in Johor Bahru in the southernmost part of Western Malaysia, after which the duo will travel to the Malay capital Kuala Lumpur for another two concerts.

Return to Israel

Lestari and Gwylim will return to Israel early January 2019, after being absent in this country for seven years. The duo opens the year playing a recital in the prestigious piano duo series of the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv. The extensive programm consists of Works for both piano four hands as well as two pianos, with works by  Ravel, Milhaud, Stravinsky, Satie and Rachmaninoff.

Debut in China

The Scholtes & Janssens Piano Duo will perform their long awaited China debut concerts in November 2018. The duo will travel through China for 16 concerts in four weeks, including the major concert halls of cities like Shenzhen, Changsha, Hangzhou, Dalian and Harbin. On the program, called ‘Winter Tour’: works by Rachmaninoff, Stravinsky and Schubert.

6th Pianoduo Festival Amsterdam

From 10 till 14 October 2018, the Scholtes & Janssens Piano Duo, founders and artistic leaders of the Pianoduo Festival Amsterdam, present its 6th edition. The duo opens the festival on October 11th with a performance of Béla Bartók’s Sonata for two piano’s and percussion, joining forces with master percussionists Dominique Vleeshouwers and Ramon Lormans, setting this year’s festival theme ‘Folk & Fairytales’ on fire.

3rd Chamber Music Festival Schoorl

Lestari and Gwylim present the 3rd edition of the Chamber Music Festival Schoorl during the Pentecost weekend 2018. Between Friday 18th  May and Monday 21st May, everything in the picturesque seaside village of Schoorl in the North-West of The Netherlands is about chamber music. The duo will open and close the festival; in between one can listen to a great number of compositions, including Mendelssohn’s first piano trio by TRIO258 and Martinu’s rarely played Piano Quartet.

Debut in Indonesia, Malaysia and Korea

Scholtes & Janssens Piano Duo will return to Asia in March 2018, performing their debut concerts in three new countries: Indonesia, Malaysia and South Korea. Between March 17th and April 2nd, the duo will tour on invitation of the New York based Ibla Foundation, covering also Japan and Cambodia on top of the earlier mentioned places. Lately, the duo has toured extensively through Asia with successful concerts in a.o. Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Brunei and Mongolia.

Debut Dutch Carribean
Lestari & Gwylim will perform their long waited debut concert in the Dutch Carribean. They will play two concerts in the series of the Classical Music Board in Bonaire. The concerts take place in the beautiful Plaza Beach Resort. The program consists of works by Schubert, Mendelssohn, Stravinsky and Mussorgksy. Click here for more information.
Fifth Pianoduo Festival Amsterdam

Piano Duo Scholtes & Janssens presents the fifth Pianoduo Festival Amsterdam: from October 6th until October 15th one can listen to the international top of piano duo's. The theme of the festival is Na Zdorowje!’, Russian for 'Cheers!', referring to the first Lustrum of the festival and the festive programs full of Russian music. 

Listen to international duo's such as the Israeli Silver-Garburg Piano Duo, Piano Duo Zilan & Zhao (China), the Walachowski Sisters (Poland), Paul Komen & Nata Tsvereli and artistic directors Lestari Scholtes & Gwylim Janssens. The Maltese-Belgium duo Gabi Sultana & Mirek Coutigny will take you on a road trip troughout the United States of the 20th century and Boy Edgar Winners and jazzpianists Martin Fondse & Jeroen van Vliet will bring you a spectaculair jazzevening. The youngest generation can enjoy the magical world of the mythical Atlantis during the children's concert 'The Magic of Atlantis'.

Debut in Japan and again South East Asia

On March 24th, 2017, Lestari & Gwylim will make their debut in Japan. Their performance in Tokio marks the ending of the IBLA Grand Prize Asia Tour 2017 after earlier performances in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. The duo returns to South East Asia after their successful tour in 2016. After their debut in Tokio, the duo plays two more concerts in the Ibaraki prefecture in Japan. 

The duo starts their tour in Bangkok and continues to Hanoi and Phnom Penh - cities where they performed to great acclaim in 2016. This year, their tour is extended to ten concerts. Besides performing, Lestari and Gwylim will give master classes to young talent and students of the International Keyboard Academy in Bangkok, the Vietnam National Academy of Music in Hanoi and the Tanaka Music School in Ibaraki, Japan.
